Aladzha Monastery is located 17 km north-east of Varna in a sheer cliff on the road to Golden Sands. The monastery consists of two levels /floors/ in the rocks. On the first level the monastery church is situated. On the second level there are a chain of monk’s rooms, a requiem church, kitchen with a dining room and a crypt. Make sure to visit the lighting show which takes place there every Wednesday and Saturday at 21:00 which is going to take you back to ancient and legendary times.
