THE HOLY TRINITY PILGRIMAGE ROUTE
The Holy Trinity pilgrimage route is held annually on the day of the Holy Spirit, celebrated the day after Pentecost. It is in honor of the Divine Trinity – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The pilgrimage route starts at 7:30 a.m. from St.st. Kirik and Julita temple in Bankya (8 km away from Sofia in the hills of Lyulin mountain near Divotino village) and the participants walk to Holy Trinity Divotino monastery, one of the oldest and the most beautiful in Sofia Holy Mount. There they take part in the Liturgy Divine service and in the dedication ceremony in the temple of the monastery. Then all the participants can walk around the monastery complex, and to attend the festive lunch of the monastery.
In 2017 the Holy Trinity pilgrimage route will be held on June 5th. Duration: 1 hour and 45 min. People of all ages can take part in it.To reach Bankya use busses № 42, №48 and №49.
