THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD PILGRIMAGE ROUTE

The pilgrimage route is held annually on the eponymous religious holiday, celebrated 40 days after Easter, and dedicated to one of the greatest events in the life and affair on earth of our Lord Jesus Christ - His Ascension into heaven. The pilgrimage route starts at 07:30 a.m. from St. George temple in Dolni Lozen village near Sofia. After the good luck prayer believers walk to “St. Saviour” (“St. Spas”) Lozen Monastery, located in the heart of Lozen mountain. In 2017 “The Ascension of the Lord” pilgrimage route will be held on May 25-th. Duration: 1 hour and 30 min.

People of all ages could participate in it. To reach the village of Dolni Lozen use busses № 5 and №7.
