THE HOLY PROTECTION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD PILGRIMAGE ROUTE

The Holy Protection of the Mother of God one-day pilgrimage route is held annually on October the 1-st. It is organized in honor of St. Virgin Mary and her shroud over the Orthodox nations.
Pilgrimage route starts at 8:00 a.m. in St. Petka church, Kremikovtzi region, Sofia. After the prayer participants walk to Kremikovtsi monastery, located on the southern slopes of Stara planina mountain. Two temples and valuable wall iconpaintings tell the history of medieval Bulgaria. Duration:1 hour. People of all ages can join the route.
