Found in 1945, the Art Gallery of Bourgas is one of the oldest in Bulgaria. It is located in a former Jewish synagogue, which itself is a remarkable architectural monument that was built in beginning of 20th century by the Italian architect Ricardo Toscani. The exhibitions in the building are set up on three floors and comprise more than 2500 works of art, including paintings , sculptures and line art. One of the Art Gallery’s most valuable collection is an icon collection with exhibits dating back from the 15th to 20th centuries.
